1. About myHomeMatch

myHomeMatch is an online platform that helps renters and landlords find each other, communicate, and handle rent payments. We provide the technology; the rental relationship is between the owner and the renter.

2. Your account

You must be the age of majority in your province and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.

A verified owner badge means we have reviewed certain information. It is a signal of trust, not a guarantee.

3. Listings and content

Owners are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their listings, including price, availability, and compliance with Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act.

You may not post content that is false, misleading, discriminatory, or unlawful. We may review, unpublish, or remove content and may suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Rent and payments

Rent payments are processed by Stripe. Paying rent by bank transfer is free. Card payments may carry the standard processor fee, which is shown before you pay and is paid by the person who chooses card.

Consistent with Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act, we do not charge tenants application or screening fees. We never store card or bank numbers.

5. Real estate services

myHomeMatch was founded by a real estate professional registered with the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) under TRESA. Any real estate services are provided through the registered brokerage, and any commission is handled through that brokerage.

Using the platform or messaging a member does not, by itself, create an agency relationship. Representation begins only with a separate written agreement.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the platform. No harassment, fraud, scraping, attempts to bypass security, or use of the service for unlawful purposes. Treat other members with respect.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The platform is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee that any listing, owner, or renter will meet your expectations, and we are not a party to any lease.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

8. Suspension, changes, and governing law

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms or harm the community.

We may update these terms and will post the new version here; continued use means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
